King Con (created by prominent mentalist/magician Spidey in collaboration with master card innovator Richard Sanders) is a highly entertaining, commercially driven packet trick that perfectly fuses playful situational comedy with hard-hitting visual illusion. Shifting away from standard, dry card demonstrations, this routine introduces a whimsical narrative about a ridiculous card-cheating technique that quickly hooks the audience, before blindsiding them with a completely open, impossible transformation.
The routine centers on four custom, hand-drawn novelty cards that look like crude sketches of standard court cards. In full view of the audience, without any cover, boxes, or suspicious sleight of hand, these whimsical drawings instantly and visually materialize into actual, physical, casino-quality playing cards—leaving the audience entirely stunned by the sudden leap in reality.
